The Board Diversity Government Scholarship Program is an initiative under our Women on Boards Strategy, which aims to increase female representation on Government boards and committees to 50 per cent by 2020.

Today the Government once again met with football club and competition representatives and the group confirmed its unanimous support for two key priorities: to grow grassroots football state-wide across all community levels; and to forge a path towards building a Tasmanian team.

Congratulations to the Tasmanian Tigers Women’s cricket team, who under the guidance of coach Salliann Briggs have won three of its four Women’s National Cricket League one day matches this season.

The Hodgman Liberal Government wants Tasmanian women to have a clear pathway to excel in professional sport in their home state, and our home grown champions to play for Tasmania.

The Government is encouraging those who have been exposed to family violence and had experience with family violence services in Tasmania to come forward and have their voices heard by participating in our survey about the family violence system.

Eliminating family violence is a top priority for the Hodgman Liberal Government, and the Hearing Lived Experience survey, will inform the Government’s next Plan to address family violence in Tasmania, including guiding regional face-to-face roundtables to be held in early 2019.
