In a bizarre twist, it appears the Labor-Green Government has white-anted and abandoned one of its key partners in the push to halve the rate of homelessness by the end of the year.

TAHL, by any measure, has been a success and is part of the solution to the problem of homelessness and the seemingly never ending housing waiting list.

The Labor-Green Government must come clean on the future of TAHL amid increasing reports that the organisation established in 2006 will be disbanded.

The independent inquiry into the case of prostitution of a child under the Care and Protection of the State should be separate to any wider investigation into the sexualisation of children and child prostitution in Tasmania.

If wider social issues are included in the investigation, there is a risk it could take many months, if not years, to complete.

It is imperative the inquiry confine its inquiry to the circumstances relating to the exploitation of the child in question, and any Departmental or systemic issues leading to the failure of the Government to protect this child.
