Recognising Tassie’s sporting heroes

Friday, 28 June 2019

Nominations for the next round of inductees into the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame are now open.

Tasmania is an island known for its sporting prowess, and the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame features a long list of sportspeople who have reached the highest levels of Australian and world sport.

Induction into the Hall of Fame honours outstanding Tasmanian sportspeople who have represented their state and nation with distinction, and ensures their achievements are given the recognition they truly deserve.

I encourage Tasmanians to submit nominations of exceptional sportspeople who they believe are worthy of recognition in the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame.

The current 133 recipients includes Olympic medal winners, world champions, and champions across a wide range of sporting codes and disciplines who have achieved extraordinary performance in their sport.

Nominations can be made until August 23, 2019 by visiting: www.communities.tas.gov.au
