Royal Commission in Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability
Friday, 5th April 2019
The Tasmanian Government welcomes today’s announcement by Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Minister for Families and Social Services, Paul Fletcher on the establishment of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
We also welcome the Australian Government’s announcement of $527.9 million to support the Royal Commission, which includes $148.8 million to provide advocacy and support services to people with disability, their families, carers and supporters who may be impacted by the Royal Commission.
I would encourage all concerned members of the community to engage with the Royal Commission. More information can be found at: www.ag.gov.au/About/RoyalCommissions
